Overview

Open Mercato is an MIT-licensed CRM/ERP foundation framework built on Next.js, TypeScript and PostgreSQL. The core installs as a versioned npm package rather than a fork, and build-time overlays let you replace modules and workflows in your own layer. It ships with auth, RBAC, multi-tenancy, audit and undo, catalogue and CPQ, and orders, plus specs to guide coding agents.

Best for
Developer teams and software houses building custom CRM or ERP systems they own outright.
Pricing
No prices are shown; the framework is MIT licensed and free to clone, with enterprise support and implementation partners offered but not priced.
Runs on
CLI

Strengths and trade-offs

Strengths

  • MIT licensed and self-hostable; clone the repo, no licence fees
  • Core ships as a versioned npm package you install, never fork
  • Auth, RBAC, multi-tenancy and audit/undo included by default
  • Repo ships specs intended for coding agents to work against

Trade-offs

  • Version 0.4.6, so conventions and APIs may still shift
  • A foundation framework, not a finished app — you still build on top
  • Stack is fixed: Next.js, TypeScript and PostgreSQL
  • Enterprise support and partner implementation costs are not published
