Overview
Sessy is an open-source dashboard for AWS SES email events. You create an SES configuration set and point its SNS destination at a Sessy webhook URL; sends, deliveries, bounces, complaints, opens, clicks, rejects, delays and rendering failures then appear in real time, searchable by recipient or subject. Run it with Docker or Kamal on your own server, or use the hosted version.
- Best for
- Developers sending through AWS SES who want delivery, bounce and engagement tracking they host themselves
- Pricing
- Self-hosting is free and open source, and the hosted version is free while it is in early-access beta; no prices are shown for after the beta.
- Runs on
- Self-hosted
Strengths and trade-offs
Strengths
- Deploys with one Docker command; SQLite or PostgreSQL, no external deps
- Captures all major SES events, including bounces, opens and clicks
- Read-only MCP server lets Claude Code, Cursor and Codex query events
- Self-hosting is free and open source, with no volume or retention caps
Trade-offs
- Works only with AWS SES; no other email providers are mentioned
- Hosted version is in beta and pricing after early access is not stated
- Self-hosting means running and updating the server yourself
- Described as under active development, so behaviour will keep changing
