Overview
Papra is an open-source document management platform for keeping, tagging and searching files in one place. Documents sit inside organisations that hold members and tags, with tagging rules applied automatically, and each organisation can be given email addresses so forwarded attachments are imported as documents. An API, webhooks, CLI and SDK are provided for integration.

Strengths and trade-offs
Strengths
- Open source under AGPL-3.0 and self-hostable at no cost
- API, webhooks, CLI and SDK for integration
- Email intake: forward attachments to a dedicated address
- Hosted in Europe, with data stored in Europe
Trade-offs
- Free tier caps at 512MB storage, 3 members and 25MB uploads
- Paid tiers raise quotas only; all plans include the same core features
- Built and hosted by a single named maintainer, not a company
- Hitting the storage limit blocks new uploads until you upgrade or delete
