Overview
Nhost is a managed backend platform providing a Postgres database, a Hasura GraphQL API with realtime subscriptions and event triggers, authentication, file storage with a CDN, and serverless JS/TS functions. A CLI runs the whole stack locally and Git pushes deploy it to Nhost Cloud. Projects can also run your own containers and use an AI toolkit with pgvector and auto-embeddings.

- Pricing

Strengths and trade-offs
Strengths
- Postgres, GraphQL, auth, storage and functions in one stack
- CLI runs the full stack locally; Git push deploys it
- Free tier needs no credit card and allows unlimited users
- Full database and storage export, stated as no vendor lock-in
Trade-offs
- Free tier allows one active project, paused after a week of inactivity
- Compute is billed per vCPU core on top of the monthly plan fee
- Excess usage is charged automatically rather than capped
