Strengths and trade-offs

Strengths

  • Links encrypted; only the Secret Key holder can read them
  • Save from the site, address bar, browser extension or mobile app
  • Data can live on a data server you choose or host
  • Saved links show a representative image and title

Trade-offs

  • Access depends on your Secret Key; nobody else can restore the account
  • Tags, dark mode, pinning and lock lists need the paid subscription
  • Captured pages mention no search, notes or annotation features
  • Final charge varies with exchange rates and taxes at checkout
