Overview
Apache Subversion is an open source, centralised version control system, founded in 2000 by CollabNet and now developed as a project of the Apache Software Foundation. It is distributed as source code archives and as precompiled binary packages for various platforms. Clients such as TortoiseSVN, IDE integrations and SVNKit are managed as separate projects outside the core.
