Overview
VeraCrypt is free open source disk encryption software for Windows, macOS and Linux, based on TrueCrypt 7.1a. It creates an encrypted volume inside a file and mounts it as a disk, or encrypts a whole partition, drive or the Windows system disk with pre-boot authentication. Encryption is real-time and transparent, and hidden volumes and a hidden operating system provide plausible deniability.
