Overview
Lingo.dev is a localisation platform built around 'localization engines' — stateful configurations holding a glossary, brand voice, per-locale instructions and a ranked model chain with fallback. Teams call an engine over HTTP, the CLI, a GitHub Action or MCP. Each async job runs source refinement, glossary retrieval by similarity search, LLM translation, optional human post-editing and AI scoring.
- Best for
- Engineering teams localising product strings from code, CLI or CI/CD with consistent terminology
- Pricing
- Sandbox has no base fee and Production is $99/month, both adding $0.50 per engine per month, $2/MTok for Lingo.dev infrastructure, $0.01 per AI review run and LLM costs at pass-through; Enterprise is quoted on request.
- Runs on
- WebCLI

- AI review runs at $0.01 each can outweigh translation cost
- Sandbox capped at 100K tokens/day and 7-day data retention
