Vault stores and controls access to tokens, passwords, certificates and encryption keys, reached through a UI, CLI or HTTP API. Secrets engines do the work: key/value storage in Vault's configured physical storage, database credentials generated dynamically from pre-configured roles, and transit encryption for data in transit. HCP Vault Dedicated is offered as a hosted option.
