Overview
Evidence is a business intelligence platform where the whole project is defined as code in a repo: pages are Markdown files containing SQL and components, with access control and theming in version-controlled config files. It provides a cloud editor and a CLI, Git-based deploys with branch previews and rollback, and an analytics agent that answers questions and builds reports using the project as context.
- Best for
- Data teams that want BI reports authored in SQL and Markdown and managed in a Git repo
- Pricing
- Team $15 per user/month and Pro $25 per user/month, Enterprise custom; extra AI credits are $0.01 each.

Strengths and trade-offs
Strengths
- Reports and dashboards are Markdown files with SQL and components
- Git workflow: branch previews, push to deploy, instant rollback
- Evidence Core is open source; cloud editor needs no install
- Agent answers data questions in Slack or any MCP client
Trade-offs
- Authoring means writing SQL and Markdown, not drag-and-drop
- Row-level security, SCIM and SOC 2 report are Enterprise-only
- SSO requires the $25 Pro plan or above
- AI credits are capped per user, then $0.01 per extra credit
